Zuna, 10-year-old spayed female, ridgeless Ridgeback

Despite her years Zuna is far more active than dogs half her age.  She has spent the last 3 years in a wonderful home with a couple of advanced years.  Unfortunately, time waits for no one, and their ability to care for her has deteriorated to the point that it became in the best interest of Zuna and her owners to return her to TIRR Rescue.

Zuna will need knee surgery before she can be placed which is scheduled for 9/28/26.  A foster home to help with her recovery and rehabilitation exercise would be a blessing for her and for TIRR Rescue.  However, I must warn you that Zuna’s personality will win your heart and any foster runs the risk of wanting to keep her.

Zuna would be happiest as an only dog since she prefers to be the center of attention.  She can live comfortably with other dogs with proper introduction and guidance.  She can be vocal as she has an opinion on just about everything and does not mind expressing it.  She is crate trained and actually prefers her crate when left alone.  She has proven herself to be an excellent companion in an adult household.
