A Word from Summer
Over the years we have had some of the most unusual dogs at TIRR Rescue. In most situations we can make a fair and reasonable guess at the breed and mix. However, Summer is in a class all her own, in both appearance and behavior. The ridge on her back is self-evident. Now what we must determine is just what kind of Ridgeback she is and for that, I ask your suggestions.
Could she be a Phu Quoc Ridgeback? She certainly has the looks and from what I have read her mannerisms and behavior are of this breed. Then again, could she be a Thai Ridgeback or Thai Ridgeback mix? Our first impression was another RR mix, of which we have seen some most unusual combinations. The best we could come up with is a 50/50 mix of Rhodesian Ridgeback and Kangaroo!
Whatever she is, she would certainly make a wonderful addition to the life of anyone who appreciates a challenge and the rewards a dog like Summer can bring.
Summer is young, under 5 years of age with the physical and emotional appearance of a two-year-old. Extremely sensitive, exceptionally lovable and with a situational awareness of the most primitive creatures. No sound or sight escapes her attention. She can leap tall fences in a single bound, clear a countertop in the blink of an eye, and in the next instance be the most innocent and lovable of creatures.
