A Word from Murphy
The little big dog if there ever was one. At 40 pounds Murphy is the smallest dog at the Rescue Ranch, but don’t tell him that. From his perspective he is the biggest dog here. His pack consists of Nutmeg, who keeps him on his toes and Rayna, a hundred-pound female purebred Ridgeback that considers herself the greatest warrior princess of all time, except where Murphy is involved. Rayna never disputes Murphy’s leadership and stays clear of all discussions when Nutmeg decides to challenge him.
My image of Murphy would have to be wearing a derby hat with a stubby cigar sticking out his mouth. If he could talk, I am sure he would prefer to be addressed as “Boss” or “Mr. Big”. What’s his is his, and whatever he can steal from other dogs’ crate or run, is also his. He is a collector of Nyla bones and chew toys. And any crate or run that is left open is an invitation for him to take whatever he likes. He can be very shy and polite when caught in the commission of one of his crimes. He has never confessed to any trespass, always remains silent when questioned and is quick to ask for his lawyer.
Now I am sure in the right environment this little fella could be deterred from his life of crime and could be a productive member of society. Imagine the sense of accomplishment should you be the one to rehabilitate this criminal mastermind.
