A Word from Lucky
Hey people, Lucky here.
Yea, Lucky, that is the name they gave me at the shelter. I guess someone there thought they were being funny. I have spent 9 hard years most of it living on the streets. People say, “live like someone left the gate open”. Well, someone did leave the gate open and left me to wander the streets and let me tell you, this life is not the greatest. My experiences have taught me how to get along, avoid confrontation and make the best out of whatever I have.
I think it is well past time for me to have a home and person of my own. People come and go, dogs I have known and who’s company I have enjoyed, have left, never to return. It is hard to make a friend and see them drive away, never to return. I do my very best, I show people how much energy I have for my age, I show them how my manners have refined over the years. I hold out my paw in friendship and though they take my hand and offer treats, I must wonder if there will ever be a home for me. I am a good dog and I have paid my dues, is there not “someone” with a heart as big as mine, to share the coming years.
