About Our Dogs

 

All of our dogs go through an extensive behavioral observation period where we determine their temperament, socialization level, and any other issues they may have.  We only offer for adoption those dogs that we feel are ready, and we require all potential adopters to come to the Rescue Ranch to meet the dogs in person.  We are very involved in the adoption process, making sure we match the correct dog to the correct person.  We interview and check personal and vet references of prospective adopters to ensure that the correct match is made.

Our dogs are:

• Crate Trained

• Chipped

  • Our contact information and yours is on the chip, ensuring someone will answer the call should one be placed.

• Fixed (unless doing so poses a life-threatening risk)

• Up-to-date on shots

• Health Inspected by a vet within one week of going home.

Adopters MUST maintain a veterinarian-approved heartworm preventative for the lifetime of the dog they adopt from us as well as any other dogs in the household (no exceptions).

Adoption fees are $150 for Non-Ridgebacks and Mixes and $250 for Purebred Ridgebacks.

Any dog taken into our program receives a lifetime commitment from TIRR Rescue.  If an adopter is unable to care for the dog for any reason, the dog is to be returned to TIRR Rescue.  There should never be a cause for one of our dogs' lives to be placed into jeopardy.
